The masked lea lea bang bang is as close as you’ll come to seeing a luchador from Halifax, England. Originally told she was too small and would not make It  to be a wrestler, Lea lea bang bang began learning the ropes as a teenager and has since turned into one of the U.K.’s most well-traveled competitors.

 

Making his debut in 2018, the masked competitor found inspiration in Mexican lucha libre early in her career, a foundation he now complements with a more classical British technique (as well as some seriously hard strikes.

An evening at ukw Wrestling Club in Leeds can be best described as drama class with bruises.

As the young, eager trainees expertly slam, crash and kick each other around the ring, technique is, of course, a huge part of the sport.

But perhaps the crucial part, as is almost always pointed out by trainers at the club, is a wrestler’s body language; the way they use facial expressions and noises to truly suck the audience in and create a gripping story inside the ring.

The character aspect was, of course, a huge part of trainer and wrestler ‘zara lea McDonald breakthrough in the sport with mental health problems and learning disabilities regularly donning a distinctive t shirt that said Bang Bang and the trained mark saying of the British bull dog Win if you can, lose if you must, but ALWAYS cheat!..

It has already been said by legard su low from world maxco wrestling that was also at the event watching that lea lea bang bang needs a 
mask and going by the ring-name ‘El Bang the flying frog or Lea lea bang bang , the Mexican British wrestling star from Yorkshire ’.

However, amongst other members of the club, she perhaps known more comically as the crazy known stop talking women from yorkshire .

“As a kid I was quite plain looking,” says Zara, “so I just wanted something that would make me stand out from everyone else and so I 
chose the wrestling after trying out all different sports in the UK and been let down by so many people in Yorkshire because of my learning disabilities and mental health problems. 

I think when I gell BANG it like saying yes I can do it and showing my fans that if you fight an bang your way into something and you can reach your targets. 

Wrestling is about Building bridges an breaking barriers and i aim to do that in the wrestling business I think added a bit of personality to my character is what my fans like.

With this huge wealth of knowledge and talent at the club’s helm, it certainly seems like a long time since UKW , first opened the club.

Despite coming across as an overall friendly and welcoming man, Jonathan Sedgwick
loved playing the role of the ‘bad guy’.

But while he is now as good as retired from the sport, Jonathan Sedgwick still likes to wrestler his friends an members of the club
And has since turned his hand into booking and promoting wrestling shows hosted around various venues in Yorkshire, including the club’s own training centre in batley.

With many of the club’s current crop of trainees taking part, Jonathan Sedgwick
has his eye on a few wrestlers who have the potential to go on to great things. And once again, it is not purely in ring ability that has marked them out from the rest.

You can tell quite quickly which ones have that natural wrestling ability,” says Gill club manger.

“We have one young wrestler called Zara who hasn’t even been wrestling for two years yet, but she just has that natural in-ring ability and puts a lot of commitment to her character.

“Her in-ring name is ‘lea lea bang bang ’ (distinguished by the bang bang logo on her t shirt) and even when not in the ring she’s always in her character and has her own unique way of doing moves.”

With the club remaining batley only training centre for wrestlers, mixing some of the very best of the sport’s past, present and future, ukw Wrestling is an outfit that only seems to be getting stronger.

And while many, admittedly, will find it hard to thrive as a professional wrestler, the sport’s strong mix of sport and entertainment ensures that anyone with a hint of passion and character can find a satisfying role, whether it be as a referee, ring announcer or any other ‘crazy and unique personality’, in the ‘mad world’ of wrestling.
